Purchasing Specialist

Our client is in Scottsdale and looking for a purchasing specialist for a 2 month contract position. In this role, you'll coordinate activities involved with procuring goods and services. You'll work with vendors to obtain price, availability, and delivery schedules, verify parts, quantities, price and lead time on order confirmations, maintain status on orders, and make adjustments when required and approved.
On a daily basis, you'll review and process requisitions in a timely and accurate manner, follow up on back orders, escalate critical shortages and supply chain issues to management and manage suppliers in order to maintain a free flow of information and material and handle other duties as assigned. To be effective in this role you'll work closely with planners to clarify expectations and create purchase orders and with Finance to resolve billing and payment issues.
Additional requirements include:
- High School Diploma preferred, college courses a plus
- 2
years experience in a similar role
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (in particular, Word, Excel, Access)
- Strong attention-to detail and organizational skills
- Strong analytical skills
- SAP knowledge a plusEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
