Senior Mechanical Engineer

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
General Dynamics is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in our Scottsdale, Arizona location. This position will perform detailed design, documentation, test of mechanical components, equipment and subsystems.
In this role you will:
Design and analyze mechanical systems and equipment
Conduct feasibility studies and test new and modified designs
Prepare detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication
Perform fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems
Research and analyze data, such as customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
Support the generation of technical engineering products by using the appropriate requirement management, standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system development life cycle
Provide leadership and/or direction to lower level employees
Lead technical tasks for small teams or projects
Provide engineering support to manufacturing/operations and proposals
Exercise latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments
Guide the successful completion of major programs and projects
Interfaces may include:
Frequent contact with managers within and outside of Engineering
Frequent contact with project teams across the company
Frequent contact with external customers and vendors
Occasional contact with Business Development

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
