Advanced Finance Specialist

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business equivalent is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Advanced Finance Specialist. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams on select Surface Radar programs to develop plans and monitor the financial performance of the General Dynamics Mission Systems organization and its clients. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
Prepares, analyzes and evaluates financial information associated with the program (s) or department forecasts and cost pools for budget, forecast, pricing, planning, invoicing and controlMonitors actual costs of program and compares to budgeted costs to identify and understand variances Interprets data to determine present and future financial performancePerforms month end close activities for assigned programsPerforms studies and summarizes recommendations related to investment/business opportunities, future trends and impact of governmental requirements/financial regulationsLeads and coordinates the processes and procedures for collecting, consolidating, analyzing, and developing departmental or cost pool budgets, capital budgets, Strategic Business Plans, New Business Funds, and/or Rate ControlPerforms work that is consultative in nature and includes complex analysisThis is the career level in many professional specialtiesSubject matter expert (SME) in one discipline/field and developing working knowledge in adjacent disciplines/fields
Maintain detailed records and prepare required reports with accuracy and efficiency. Practice creative thinking and ideation to advance our business performance.
Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers changing business needs.
Support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures.
Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure General Dynamics Advanced Information Systemss services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices.
Serve as a liaison with internal and external auditors
Support the development of strategic plans and budgets
