Encapsulates media buying programs and activities; develops and executes effective communication and media relations programs.
Supervisor ResponsibilitiesDirectly manages the Marketing Coordinator.
Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, directing and ensuring the completion of work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Supports and advances media plans and objectives by conducting demographic, lifestyle, quantitative and similar research and analysis, identifying target audiences and market trends, determining media availability and new market opportunities based on analysis, and recommending initiatives and activities that will provide a competitive advantage.
Executes media plans by determining media availability to include, but not limited to, print, radio, out-of-home, cable and broadcast television, new/online media, value added packages, and bonus weights, negotiating with media vendors to establish promotional concepts and activities, creating media plans, preparing reports summarizing media specifications and costs, and providing plans and reports to management.
Develops and manages media relations goals, tactics and strategy by seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast, and online media, cultivating new contacts within mainstream and industry media, and monitoring, analyzing and communicating results on a monthly basis.
Measures the effectiveness of media programs by verifying the accuracy of placements, analyzing variances through CPM/CPP, and making arrangements to recoup the value of rating points that have not been delivered.
Enhances the organization's reputation as an effective and progressive community partner by maintaining an awareness of emerging media practices, participating in educational opportunities, reading trade publications, exploring innovative media opportunities, and participating in activities to raise Casino Arizona and Talking Stick Resort's profile in the surrounding community.
Education and/or ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field, 3 years of media buying experienceFinancial or budgetary experience preferred.
Other Qualifications Understanding of the Phoenix Metropolitan (and surrounding) market, existing media relationships are a plus Ability to analyze and interpret data and make sound business recommendation Ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations Working knowledge of industry practices, concepts and terminology Working knowledge of Nielsen TV and radio ratings, Arbitron radio ratings, and Scarborough qualitative research Familiarity with industry standard CPP periodicals Ability to interact effectively with guests, team members, vendors, and external agencies Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key media personalities and popular thought leaders in the market Ability to write copy, press releases, and media alerts in a variety of voices based on what is appropriate for the subject and media outlet Ability to represent the organization in a professional manner Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written direction Ability to communicate effectively in the English language Ability to complete forms, documents and written reports Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to maintain professionalism and composure Ability to accept constructive feedback Ability to maintain confidentiality Language SkillsMust be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
