Bridge Engineer

The position is a key technical role in both conventional and alternative delivery bridge projects.
Experience should include the supervision and execution of the preparation of design calculations and reports, overseeing the preparation of drawings for projects, and assignments of varying complexity and scope.
Responsibilities:
Management:
Supervises the development of design concepts and reports Work with Clients including state, counties, cities and municipalities; and design/build contractors Production:
Prepares comprehensive engineering reports, calculations, specifications, and drawings for structural (bridge) design projects Structural design for transportation structures such as bridges, tunnels, walls, etc.
Leads construction engineering support effort on designated projects Participates in a key technical role in local bridge projects, as well as major bridge projects within the West Region Reviews / checks design calculations and reports for compliance with applicable codes and department standards Reviews project drawings for accuracy and completeness Assures the timely delivery of quality work products and services Leads and/or participates in in-depth study projects Coordinates and oversees technical approvals Provides guidance and mentoring to junior staff Business Development:
Presents and/or assists at public presentations on technical/design issues Participates in Business Development action items for the clients and agencies listed above
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering required from an engineering program accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, Inc (EAC/ABET).
Masters degree preferred Must have at least 4 years of structural design experience in bridges and other transportation related structures Requires advanced knowledge of Structural design and analysis software, including SAP2000, CSI Bridge, VBridge and VBent or LEAP Bridge, LPile, and column and frame ductility programs.
Development of calculations using Excel and Mathcad.
