Our growing client in Scottsdale is looking to for a Payroll
manager
.
The Payroll Manager will be accountable for managing all aspects of payroll, including the efficient management of the payroll department, processing and distributing payroll checks on a biweekly basis, providing reconciliation and reports related to payroll, in accordance with federal, state, and city regulations as well as corporate guidelines. The Payroll Manager will report to the company Controller and manage a team of two.

Duties:
Oversee all processes related to payroll/time and labor, system security, system maintenance and payroll accounting processes.
Review accounting interfaces to ensure the accuracy of payroll expenses and liabilities posted.
Prepare month end accruals and reconcile payroll related balance sheet accounts, including payroll, health insurance, travel and payroll tax accruals.
Review of corporate expense reports to ensure compliance with company policies and maintenance of expense reporting system.
Provide interpretation on company policies, local, state and federal laws (e.g., FLSA, payroll taxes, etc.).
Manage payroll, workers comp and related audits and requests from government agencies and insurance providers.
Build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders and partners.
Manage staff selection, development, training and retention. Establish and monitor work goals and objectives.

Oversee design and implementation for payroll related projects. Responsible for leading projects in matters of payroll management.
Responsible for compliance with all SOX controls; updating and training of staff on SOX compliance within the department.
Responsible for system security and system maintenance related to payroll function.
Review and approve payroll tax filings and payments.
Recommend payroll related policies and procedures for continuous business improvement and alignment with business goals.
Skills/
Qualifications:
Seven to ten years experience in payroll in a multi-unit and multi-state environment.
Experience with ADP payroll systems.
Experience supervising and developing staff.
Experience with hands-on full-cycle payroll responsibilities including handling multiple state filing, year-end taxes, expense reports, benefits and relocation related taxes.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent
Knowledge of current payroll-related laws.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel
Strong analytical skills. Excellent ability to identify problems and utilize problem-solving skills to resolve issues.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work in a time-sensitive, multi-state payroll environment. Must be extremely detail oriented.
Must maintain a high level of confidentiality with sensitive information.
