Superintendent - Solar Projects

Job
Summary:
A Superintendent will be assigned to solar projects. This person shall direct the daily field activities of the assigned projects as well as meet all short term and long term objectives for these projects.
Current opening in the Solar Segment and requires frequent and long term travel to remote locations.
Essential Functions/Other Duties:
o Must be qualified to work in a safety sensitive position on a construction job site.
o Directs and supervises the foremen and field personnel with daily schedules including people, equipment, materials, subcontractors, suppliers, etc.
o Conducts pre-task planning and implementation through all field personnel.
o Collects and enters daily quantities and compares to budgets and job cost reports or ensures performance of same.
o Acts as a liaison between owner representatives and field employees on all schedules, changes in scope of work, and conflict resolution.
o Takes responsibility for overall project supervision.
o Prioritizes projects and tasks to achieve department and company objectives.
o Multi-tasks and stays focused on the big picture while addressing daily issues.
o Assures compliance with Company safety policies and OSHA safety standards.
o Monitors and complies with MBE/DBE/WBE requirements.
o Monitors project performance and identifies areas where new or improved plans can improve the quality of existing services as well as recommend means for improvement, including procedural steps, increased training, and enhanced documentation.
o Reviews job milestones and billing dates.
o Reviews blue stake limits and assists in set up.
o Documents any delays and/or changes to scope of work.
o Acts as a trouble shooter on projects.
o Maintains and monitors quality standards.
o Sets up staging areas as needed.
o Participates in pre-construction and safety meetings as required.
o Participates as a member of the superintendent management team.
o Assures that all required permits are in place including dust control, ROW, stockpile, SRP, CAP and NPDES.
o Coordinates and delegates timely implementation of traffic control plans, equipment mobilization, safety plans, haul road plans, erosion control plans, job costing, and other duties as required.
o Manages all sub-contractors for timely completion and quality.
o Aids Project Manager in collection of necessary job data.
o Directs multiple projects simultaneously.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
o Strong organizational, follow-through, and communication skills.
o High degree of professionalism and strong work ethic.
o 5 years of heavy civil underground projects including specific solar project experience.
o Ability to take ownership of the job, think independently and be a problem solver.
o Proficiency with reading blue prints, plans, specs, contracts, purchase orders, etc.
o Proficiency in planning, scheduling, and production.
o Knowledge of municipality requirements.
o Valid driver license with acceptable driving record in accordance with CSW policy.
o Team player with proven delegation and motivational skills.
o Understands the process of building a job.
o Proficiency in Microsoft office-Excel/Word a plus.
Education &
Experience:
o High school diploma required
o Degree in Construction Management preferred
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
o Daily travel to jobsites required.
o Working outdoors in Arizona climate
o Some weekend and night work required depending on job requirements
o Minimum 50 hours per week
o Some jobs may require excessive hours for a short duration.
