Trade Specialist - Estimator
POSITION SUMMARY
The Trade Specialist is responsible for delivering expert, trade specific knowledge to evaluate complicated work tasks, including capital replacements, multi-location projects, and quotable work where the scope goes beyond normal repairs or established not to exceed (NTEs). Trade Specialists must be able to evaluate a Service Provider's scope of work and related costs to determine fairness and accuracy; the evaluation also includes alternative work scenarios that could lower a client's cost. Successful Trade Specialists must be able to work quickly to move work through the pipeline, and must have strong communications skills to interact with other internal departments as well as Clients and Service providers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Build quotes by analyzing scope of work on the basis of work involved, cost, efficiencies and alternatives
2. Manage Service Provider and Supplier/Manufacturing relationships through collaboration and negotiation to develop best pricing and efficiencies; leverage buying power with manufacturers and suppliers and work with Purchasing to buy on behalf of client
3. Working with Directors of Operations as well as Account Executives; ensure that Customer Requirements are met regarding turn-around-time as well as technical requirement
4. Communicate discrepancies or alternatives to appropriate internal account teams and Client personnel
5. Provide outstanding customer satisfaction to all internal and external customers
6. Update CAPS; on one-off basis
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

years of general contracting work experience; Trade license a plus
o One to two years of customer service, recruitment or inside sales experience
o Deadline oriented
o Excellent verbal and written communications skills
o Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
o Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word
o Ability to think logically and to analyze problems
o Ability to maintain professional relationship with vendors, clients and other associates
o Ability to multi task and to take the initiative in developing and completing various work tasks
o Ability to talk on the phone for extended periods of time
o Ability to work independently
o Has a strong understanding of facilities maintenance issues

o Be self-directed and motivated

o Associate's (two year) Degree preferred
