PayPal, Inc. seeks, MTS 1, Systems Admin in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Job Duties:
Innovate and build back tier infrastructure enabling computing, blocking, networking, and object storage utilized by PayPal database systems. Support the core infrastructure of PayPal transaction databases utilizing Oracle RAC environment running on Solaris, REL, AIX, and Hitachi storage on the backend. Work with the Oracle Database Administrators regarding Oracle RAC, InfiniBand and ASM. Modify existing systems to correct errors, adapt it to new hardware, and upgrade interfaces and improve performance. Work in a team environment.
Minimum Requirements:
Masters degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Engineering or closely related quantitative discipline and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or four (4) years of experience in the field of systems engineering, software engineering, or programming analysis, or Bachelors degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Engineering or closely related quantitative discipline and six (6) years of experience in the job offered or six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of systems engineering, software engineering, or programming analysis. Employer is willing to accept 3 or 4 year degree.
Special Skill Requirements:
Experience must include the following:
Oracle, HP, Dell, and IBM hardware platforms; Solaris, REL, and AIX operating systems; Hitachi storage products including VSPG1000, VSP, HUS-VM, USP-V, and/or AMS series storage arrays; Implementation and administration of Brocade or Cisco SAN switch products including departmental switches; director level switches; zoning, SAN management, and analyzing SAN reports using Brocade SAN Health; Incident management, problem management, release management and change management concepts; Data migration including host level mirroring; Hitachi storage array based migrations; troubleshooting SAN, storage, and host-related technical problems. Any suitable combination of education, training and experience is acceptable.
