History/World History Teacher

Skill Set Requirements
Ability to teach in a blended adaptive learning environment/classroom
Comprehensive knowledge of Project based learning and Outcome Curriculum Mapping
Comprehensive knowledge of curriculum and instruction within appropriate content area
Ability to function as a student achievement advocate and advisor
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
Highly developed presentation skills
Effective organizational skills including but not limited to unit planning, differentiating instruction, designing and implementing assessments
Ability to monitor student progress and report information in a timely manner
Ability to mentor and coach students, and IB teachers
Ability to prioritize and to expand allotted resources in alignment with stated academic priorities
Responsibilities
Exercise good classroom management with the use of fair and consistent standards that are clearly articulated to the students
Ensure that teachers are well informed of the IB philosophy, administrative procedures, curriculum requirements, and assessment deadlines
Know and use a wide range of assessment strategies consistent with course content and objectives
Provide reports on student progress and maintain open communication with ensuring reports are accurate and constructive
Differentiate instruction and assessment to meet the diverse needs of the students
Work closely with IB DP students, advising and guiding, to ensure appropriate choice of courses and workload
Provide a safe, stimulating, and challenging learning environment
Attend functions in support of school and community
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Education or field related to subject matter taught, Master's Degree highly preferred
Experience working in a blended Adaptive Learning environment
4 years or more teaching History, preferably IB History courses
Experience as an IB teacher, working in an authorized IB Diploma Program
