Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. Agile experience preferred

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

(GDMS) has an immediate opening for a Senior Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Systems Engineer to join our team. This position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nationā s fundamental defense services. The DSP Systems Engineer will participate in product development process including requirements, modeling and simulation, algorithm development, HW and SW trades, documentation and design reviews. The DSP Systems Engineer will work with software, FPGA and test teams through design, development, integration, and acceptance testing to ensure functionality and performance. The DSP Systems Engineer will also interface with internal and external customers and support proposal preparation and systems engineering cost estimation. This role supports our software defined radio (SDR) communications programs which provide a modernized suite of Line of Sight (LOS) and Satellite Communications (SATCOM) systems to enable the war-fighter of today. These systems use similar technology to the cellular industry, but with a more robust and capable platform to support in theater operations.

Job responsibilities may include:

  • Design and simulation of digital wireless communication systems

  • Analysis of signal processing performance

  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems

  • Provide resolutions to a diverse range of complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity

  • Perform analysis for all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal

  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints

  • Perform functional analysis, time-line analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications

  • Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of technical Engineering products

  • Lead technical tasks for medium teams or projects

  • Lead small technical proposals and contribute to medium sized proposals

  • Exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments

  • Guide the successful completion of major programs and projects

The DSP Systems Engineer requires a Bachelor's degree in Software, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science a related technical field or the equivalent experience. In addition a minimum of 10 years of directly related experience is required. Applicant should have experience in several of the following areas:

  • Experience with modeling communication systems using software such as Mathworks Matlab and/or Simulink

  • Familiarity with wireless test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers, and RF signal recorders

  • Knowledge of modulation techniques such as BPSK, QPSK, FSK, CPM, and OFDM

  • Experience with military wireless communication systems including electronic counter counter measures (ECCM) such as frequency hopping, direct sequence spread spectrum or low probability of detection

  • Experience with communication protocol layers, e.g. media access control (MAC)

  • Experience with forward error correction techniques such as convolutional coding, block coding, and turbo coding

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
