Vehicle Description This 1947 custom Woody was modified in 2014-15 by Roush with a modern-style Ford 302ci V8 engine, Ford AOD automatic transmission and the addition of power steering.
This updated also included the Billet Specialties Tru Trac engine FEAD system that packages the new engine in the older engine bay.
The Ford AOD automatic transmission replaced the 3-speed manual transmission that the car was originally built with.
This, along with the power steering, modified the vehicle drive characteristics.
The rear axle was replaced with a Currie-supplied Ford 9-inch rear axle assembly with a 3.

Other items added included a fabricated, quiet-tone 2-1/4-inch exhaust system with ceramic-coated pipes and mufflers.
The electrical system was changed from 6 volts to 12 volts.
This included a new Optima battery, revised instruments and a 12-volt engine cooling fan.
A larger, high-capacity radiator was added to the chassis and a 4-wheel power disc brake system with dual system master cylinder was installed with new brake lines.
The vacuum-operated windshield wiper system was replaced with a 12-volt electric wiper system.
The 3-pedal floor-mounted system for the manual transmission was replaced with a 2-pedal system consistent with the automatic transmission configuration.
The windshield was delaminating and was replaced with a new period-correct one.
A righthand outside side mirror was added for increased safety.
Many new hoses, fuel lines, electric fuel pump, brake lines and wiring items were added as needed by the conversion.
