For Sale at Auction: 1936 Ford Custom in Scottsdale, Arizona for sale in Scottsdale, AZ
Vehicle Description Starting in 2012 with a 1936 Ford pickup cab and box only, the project began.
Soon after a 1951 Ford Flathead V8 engine was acquired and vintage go-fast parts were assembled, including Offenhauser cylinder heads, Offenhauser intake and Stromberg 97 carburetors.
Drive is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission, and Lucky 7 fabricated a custom-made Z'd chassis and subsequently a mild 3-inch chopped top was incorporated with a functioning rear window.
To be unique and avoid traditional chrome trim, copper was chosen as the accent color, which ties into the truck's name Copperhead - a play on copper and Flathead.
In the spring of 2015, the car was invited to Toronto's Motorama car show, where it won several awards, including Canadian Top Ten.
Subsequently Eagle Canvas completed the interior with leather and actual copper sheets on the door panels, as well as custom-made leather pouches.
In June 2015, Copperhead received the Goodguys Best Bitchin' Ride Award and First Place in the Traditional Hot Rod Category at the Cobble Beach Concourse D'Elegance.
The next year Vintage Auto Insurance awarded the car First Place in their championship.
