For Sale at Auction: 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle in Scottsdale, Arizona for sale in Scottsdale, AZ

1 of 13
Vehicle Description This 1970 Chevelle is equipped with the most notorious big-block engine ever installed in a Chevrolet.
The 4-bolt main-bearing caps, a solid-lifter camshaft, larger-diameter exhaust valves and a Holley 4-barrel carburetor propelled the Chevelle from 0-60mph in just over 5 seconds and through the quarter-mile in the 13-second range.
The matching-numbers powertrain starts with the legendary 454ci LS6 V8 engine mated to a Turbo-Hydramatic 3-speed automatic transmission and ends on the road through a posi-traction rear axle with 4.
10:
1 gears.
The white-striped cowl-induction hood, with its signature chrome hood tie-down pins, is where form meets function on the triple-Tuxedo Black Chevelle.
The Z15 option brought a black-painted grille with center SS logo, wheel-opening moldings and a black SS rear bumper insert.
An F41 suspension package backs up the look of performance with heavy-duty coil springs, front and rear anti-sway bars, box-welded rear lower control arms, power front disc brakes and power steering.
Dual exhaust with special bright polished tips makes for '70s-correct big-block sound, and the car rides on 5-spoke SS wheels with Firestone wide oval tires.
The black interior is centered by a pair of Stratobucket seats.
In front of the optional 3-spoke sport steering wheel is the round gauge pod dashboard with black-faced tachometer, speedometer and clock.
Smaller gauges for fuel, amperage and water temperature are joined by a push-button AM radio.
The center console features a horseshoe-style shifter for full-power launches from the TH400 automatic transmission.
This LS6 Chevelle was sold new at Sale Chevrolet in Ashland, OH, and displays 42,586 actual miles on its odometer (the title reads mileage exempt).
