For Sale at Auction: 1963 Austin-Healey BJ7 in Scottsdale, Arizona for sale in Scottsdale, AZ

1 of 18
Vehicle Description This restored 1963 Austin-Healey 3000 Mark II BJ7 has matching numbers and was restored to the original Colorado Red color.
It is powered by its 132hp 6-cylinder engine paired to a 4-speed manual transmission with a switch-actuated original Laycock de Normanville overdrive unit.
The optional overdrive unit greatly improves drivability, comfort and gas mileage by lowering the rpm at highway speeds and the BJ7 reverted to having two SU carburetors instead of three, making it much easier to tune.
Other BJ7 improvements included independent front suspension with wishbone coil springs and a rigid rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs and hydraulic front disc brakes.
Some of the upgrades and modifications from the restoration include a Pertronix electronic ignition, an alternator to replace the original generator, a Denis Welch aluminum racing radiator along with a Texas Cooler engine cooling fan to improve cooling performance, a custom-made steering box with a collapsible steering column, K&N air filters and a spin-on oil filter conversion to increase the ease of filter replacement.
Also installed were a top, new chrome windshield, tubeless custom 60-spoke Dayton wire wheels, handmade leather interior seats, interior panels, carpet, correct NOS Smiths magnolia-style gauges, 1/8-inch heat shield under the carpet, clutch, shocks and springs, hubs and brakes, master cylinder, wiring and components, hoses and belts, stainless-steel exhaust, battery cutoff switch, halogen lights and shoulder seat belts.
The car won a Best-in-Class award in Castle Rock, CO, under the current owner, and several other awards, including First Place at AHSTC Encounter, under the previous owner.
Included in the sale is a BMIHT certificate copy showing the matching numbers and original colors, original generator, original air filters, and a black vinyl tonneau, boot, and top, as well as a gray dust cover.
